Remote desktop copy and paste issue

I use rdesktop for some activities and sometimes copy/paste functions seems totally blocked at Windows machine. I've found very simple solution here.

On remote machine:

Open Task Manager, highlight RDPClip.exe and click the "End Process" button
Click the "Applications" tab, click the "New Task" button, and type the text "RDPClip.exe"

et voilà :)

Проанализировав требования к command line interface (CLI) программе, я систематизировал их и написал библиотеку, о которой и пойдет речь ниже.

Today I found my mencoder ignore bitrate option when I try to recode some file. mplayer32 on debian amd64

Well actually mplayer on 64bit debian is good enough. But today evening I could not play old movie from old CD. After investigating it was clear mplayer cannot find an audio codec:

Requested audio codec family [voxware] (afm=dshow) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Cannot find codec for audio format 0x75.
Read DOCS/HTML/en/codecs.html!
Audio: no sound
...

But I was absolutely sure everything was nice in the past. The investigation of the issue showed the codec was accessible only for 32-bit version. Therefore I've found fast way to install mplayer32.

Cygwin terminals

A standard Cygwin terminal is not the only one possible. Like most of programs, it has deficiencies - there is no usual operations of copy/paste, in which the text is put directly into the clipboard as soon as it was selected, a fairly limited set of fonts etc. - but in general it will meet most of your queries. From other hand, this is world of open source, so no need to limit yourself by one program.

I've this error when try to reformat one of my wav files. The answer was found in one forum:

"Doesn't that mean an MP3 file with a .WAV header? You could try adding the option "--mp3input" and check if it works."

Одной из features COWON D2 является радио. Как и в любом подобном устройстве, оно поддерживает список станций. Правда сканирование плеер проводит плохо, пихая в список все что угодно, кроме реальных станций. К тому же, интерфейс плеера не позволяет вводить названия станций.

XServer - это программа, в которой другие программы могут "рисовать". Они, другие программы, назваются XClient-ами и ничего не знают о технических особенностях Вашей системы. Они просто соединются с XServer-ом по одну из многих путей (TCP/IP, Unix-Socket, IPX или даже по COM-порту) и "просят" его что-либо нарисовать. Таким образом, вы с лекостью сможете запускать графические программы на других компьютерах, если у Вас, будет функционировать XServer. Одна из самых известных freeware реализаций этой программы представлена в наборе Cygwin - XWin.exe(XWin_GL.exe).

Стандартный Сygwin-ский терминал не единственный из возможных. Подобно большинству программ, он не лишен недостатков - нет привычных операций выделения, при которых текст сразу попадает в clipboard, и вставки, довольно ограниченный набор шрифтов - но в целом он удовлетворит большинство Ваших запросов. Однако если Вам захочется разнообразия, то нет нужды себя ограничивать :)
